Where are we located?
TRU-BLU TRAILS operates from 163 Davies Rd, Merrijig Victoria. We are located approx. 3km off Mt Buller Rd. When you arrive in the township of Merrijig, turn right into Powers rd and continue around the bend and up to the intersection. Follow the road around to the left and then turn right onto Davies Rd. Drive along approx. 1.5km and you’ll see our signage – we are located on the left.
What is your Booking & Cancellation Policy?
The following deposits must be made to secure your booking:
2-3 Day Rides: $200 pp
4-5 Day Rides: $300 pp
8 Day Safari: $500 pp
Balance of ride cost must be paid 14 days prior to ride date.
Rides cancelled within 7 days of ride date will forfeit full ride payment.
Rides cancelled 7-14 days before ride date will forfeit deposit paid.
Rides cancelled more than 14 days before ride date will have deposit transferred to an alternate date.
If Tru-Blu Trails needs to cancel a ride due to a Parks closure (eg. severe weather conditions), all deposits/ride payments will be transferred to an alternate date.
Do the rides still go ahead if it rains?
Can I bring my own horse?
Unfortunately we do not permit guests to bring their own horse. High country trail riding can be extreme and our horses are experienced with the terrain and stamina levels required.
Can non-riders attend the rides (camp)?
Non-riders are welcome to attend for a reduced fee (to cover meals & general camp costs). Please contact us to discuss options.
Do you offer pre-ride accommodation?
We understand that our guests travel large distances to experience the high country and therefore may wish to arrive the night before a weekend ride. Whilst we don’t have accommodation on our property, we do work closely with the Merrijig Motor Inn Resort and can offer guests of Tru-Blu Trails a special discounted price. The Motor Inn is approx. 3km from our property and offers delicious meals and large, comfortable rooms. Please contact us if you’d like to arrange accommodation before or after your ride. Do you have a minimum rider age?
The minimum rider age is 14 years old.
In some cases we are able to cater for younger riders if they are experienced and can confidently ride a horse (not a pony). If you wish to bring a young rider, please contact us to discuss our requirements. Note: Riders under 14 years of age (if approved) will need to be accompanied by an adult/guardian on the ride.
Do you have weight limits for riders?
High Country Trail Riding can be demanding on the fitness levels of both horse & rider due to steep terrain. For the welfare of both our horses & guests we do not permit riders over 110kg (250 lbs). Please contact us if you have special circumstances to see what can be arranged.
Do you sell your horses?
Tru-Blu Trails prides itself on the work we put into training as well as breaking in some of our trusty mountain steeds. If you are looking for an experienced trail horse, we do occasionally sell some of our four legged friends (to approved homes).
